There is a certain peace that comes with being open to what life throws at me. I am confident that I can handle whatever happens. And it all starts with accepting the situation for what it is.

When I look at my body, I see flaws that I am unhappy about, but I avoid letting them get me down. I accept my body as it is today. It represents my experiences to date. Seeing it for what it is makes it easier to commit to a long-term solution for my health.

Having a starting and ending point for fitness is important. It allows me to commit to reasonable goals without putting pressure on myself.

My goal is to live my life for me instead of according to society’s standards. I know that my reality is different from that of others, so the outcome is bound to be different. That is enough to steer me away from unhealthy comparisons.

I maintain a positive mindset about my finances. Declaring my financial status is the first step to digging myself out of the rut.

Being realistic about where I am and what I am able to afford is key to peace of mind. That state takes my mind away from worry and shifts its focus to steady recovery.

Today, I accept what life brings to me. It is in accepting that I clear my mind of the pressure to be perfect. Taking this stance allows me to adjust the things I see fit at a pace that is comfortable for me.
